Visitors Guide - "Hamden Has It All" | | | The Hamden Chamber of Commerce has published the second edition of its tourism guide for the town of Hamden. The brochure, "Hamden Has It All" features the Town's many cultural resources as well as Chamber members highlighted in dining, lodging and shopping. The publication also lists significant events scheduled during the coming year as well as its unique neighborhoods.
The first tourism committee was organized in 2006 by the Chamber and the Hamden arts commission in an effort to not only retain, but expand commerce in town. The committee determined that a general opinion, which existed for many, was that Hamden was not a tourist destination. "To the contrary" said Chamber President, Nancy Dudchik. "The thousands who visit Quinnipiac University and countless others who travel to Hamden to view the fall foliage, hike the Sleeping Giant trails and shop and dine in our many fine establishments certainly verifies that Hamden is a great destination"
The committee quickly decided that a tourism guide should be developed and designed to not only attract visitors to Hamden, but to encourage them to stay in town and utilize Hamden's many resources. Lynn Bushnell, Vice President for Public Affairs at Quinnipiac University recognized the value of such a piece for visitors to the University as well, and with her staff, supported the Committees efforts taking the lead in the design and printing of the brochure.
The Hamden Chamber of Commerce is distributing copies throughout the town and surrounding targeted locations. If you would like to receive a copy or a supply in your place of business, please call the Chamber office at 203-288-6431 or fill out the below form.
