In March 2010, President Barack Obama signed into law Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, the most important new legislation dealing with the US healthcare system since Medicare. PPACA, known familiarly as Obamacare, has already had an impact on Americans' health insurance, but the most important features of the bill - State healthcare exchanges, guaranteed access to health insurance with no exclusions for pre-existing conditions, elimination of gender discrimination in health insurance pricing - will not take effect until January 1, 2014. Mr. Kennedy will talk about what small businesses can expect next January, and how to prepare for those changes.
